The 2026 Aviation Propulsion Transformation Seminar was recently held in Shenzhen. Organized by VTOL Circle, the event brought together dozens of aviation propulsion experts and industry leaders to discuss cutting-edge topics including electric motors, hybrid propulsion, battery systems, and airworthiness certification.

Dr. Ray emphasized that the R&D of high-performance battery must always start from actual end-user requirements, defining next-generation power systems based on real flight missions.

Based on deep insights into eVTOL, long‑endurance UAVs, and other advanced applications, MXARI has built a clear technology roadmap:

Ultra-high-speed, short endurance scenarios: Optimized LiCoO₂-graphite/SiC system balancing high-rate capability and cycle stability.

High-speed, long endurance scenarios: High-nickel NCM-graphite/SiC system achieving 400–450Wh/kg mass energy density.

Ultra-long endurance, high-speed scenarios: High-nickel NCM-lithium metal system targeting 500Wh/kg.

Proven by Real Flight Data: Continuous Iteration Delivers Value

MXARI is committed to creating measurable value through continuous product iteration. Dr. Ray disclosed several real-world flight test results:

4-hour endurance breakthrough

Equipped with a 400 Wh/kg battery system, the specific UAV model achieved 4 hours of continuous flight under a 33kg payload, retaining 20% battery capacity upon mission completion. It also demonstrated excellent thermal management, with the module temperature remaining below 50°C.

≥36% endurance improvement

In another real-world flight test, the UAV achieved a cumulative flight time of 4 hours, 47 minutes, and 40 seconds, covering a distance of over 424.28 kilometers. The ultimate endurance is now expected to push towards the 5-hour mark.

These results demonstrate that MX Energy Ltd.’s batteries not only deliver high energy density but also maintain robust power output and safety under heavy-load and VTOL conditions.
